JS Security the leading Gloucestershire security company have been awarded the contract to be the provider of matchday security services for the four upcoming Rugby World Cup matches at Kingsholm Stadium.
The contract covers match day security, including the hospitality areas, car park security and any additional security requirements. The contract which will involve in excess of 80 staff per match will begin with the first of the Rugby World Cup matches at Kingsholm on the 19th September, Tonga vs Georgia. All four matches at the Kingsholm Stadium are sold out.
John Search, Managing Director of JS Security commented on the awarding of the contract:
“We are delighted to have been chosen for this prestigious contract. Gloucester being a host city is a big thing for the city and the area as a whole. There is a real buzz in the area and we are looking forward to playing our part and ensuring that the supporters have a safe and enjoyable experience.
“As we already hold the contract for matchday security at Gloucester Rugby Club we know the venue very well. We also have a great deal of experience of working with large scale events that attract many thousands of people. It is great to see that the Rugby World Cup coming to the county is benefitting local businesses.
“We will be putting together a bespoke team for the Rugby World Cup, combining some of our most experienced personnel, graduates from our Apprentice Scheme and new personnel. Many of the staff will have worked at the ground before. As security on the day will involve bag searches we would encourage spectators coming to any of the Kingsholm games to avoid bringing bags where possible or to arrive at the ground well before the game”.
Sean Roberts, Operations Manager for the Rugby World Cup matches being held at Gloucester Rugby concluded by commenting on the selection criteria for this key contract:
“A key factor in our decision making process was the desire to appoint a reliable company. We were also ideally looking for a Gloucestershire based business with a proven track record and JS Security met all of these criteria.”
